(How can we use fish in cosmetics and medicine, and what are the benefits of fish oil?) Most of the cosmetic products that we use are extracted from rare and different ingredients, one of these ingredients being fish. What is the use of fish in cosmetics?

  1. Marine collagen is a type of collagen that is derived from the skin of fish and shows high bioavailability when compared to other sources of collagen. It may be used as a supplement or skin care product due to its benefits that include improved skin elasticity, hydration, and delayed signs of aging like wrinkles.

  • Salmon injection is one of the effective techniques used in cosmetic procedures (salmon DNA and collagen) that may be combined with other injections widely used in Asia. It helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, is widely used to remove dark circles under the eyes, and can be combined with hyaluronic acid to improve skin elasticity.

  • Shark liver oil is a major source of squalene derived from the liver of sharks. That is commonly used in cosmetic products like cream, sunscreen, lipsticks, lip balm, foundation, and eye makeup. For purpose (anti-aging), another type we have, Squalane has the same properties as squalene, but the difference is that squalene has a longer half-life than squalane, so it is used widely in skin care products.

  • Fish pedicure is one of the procedures that is used in spas, dipping the feet into a basin of water filled with fish. These fish, Garra rufa, sometimes called doctor fish, help to exfoliate and clean the skin, reduce calluses, and improve the appearance of the feet.

  • A 2018 review in Marine Drugs Trusted Source notes that fish oil and its components, including omega-3, can help support the skin’s overall health. Also, some fish oil contains vitamin D and vitamin A. Vitamin A is an antioxidant related to retinol, a popular ingredient in skin care products and a treatment for skin It is also used in skin disorders because it contains eicosatetraenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). That inhibits inflammation, so it uses fish oil to treat some skin disorders like eczema and psoriasis.

recommend a diet rich in protein, which includes fish, to aid in recovery and healing because it contains omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation.

What are the benefits of fish oil?

Benefits of fish oil: 1. Reduce inflammation. Fish oil reduces inflammation because it contains a high amount of omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosatetraenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, which play an important role in the inflammatory response.

2- reduce liver fat Fish oil supplements can improve liver function, help reduce nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and help reduce triglycerides in the blood. This contributes to the reduction of fat stored in the liver

. 3. Support eye health. A sufficient amount of omega-3 is important for eye health; people with a low amount of omega-3 have a high risk for eye disease, and fish oil helps prevent age-related macular degeneration.

  1. Support brain health. A sufficient amount of omega-3 is important for brain health; people with a low amount of omega-3 have a high risk for Alzheimer’s disease. DHA is an essential part of your brain Research has found that people with Alzheimer’s disease have lower DHA levels than others.

  1. Might Prevent Severe COVID-19 Symptoms Studies show that low levels of omega-3 are linked with severe symptoms, including COVID-19-like respiratory failure. Omega-3 supplements might reduce symptoms of severe COVID-19-like respiratory failure.
