Shayan: On January 25–27, 2024, in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Tishk International University/Faculty of Nursing hosted the first international nursing and midwifery conference at the Nursing & Midwifery Development Center.
“Improving Healthcare Through the Development of Nursing and Midwifery Professions” was the theme of the conference, which was organized in collaboration with the Tishk International University/Faculty of Nursing, Hawler Medical University, University of Nineveh, Nursing & Midwifery Development Center, and the Ministry of Health-KRG in partnership. The Ministry of Health, representatives from the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Health held the conference’s opening ceremony on January 25, 2024, in the evening at the Erbil International Hotel.
The international guests, the KRG Member of Parliament, and the representatives of the conference partners. In all fields of nursing and midwifery, the conference brought together regional and worldwide nurses and midwives from academic, clinical, administrative, and research settings to share and exchange the outcomes of their research and quality improvement efforts. On the first day of the conference, seven workshops with local and international facilitators were held. The event was made successful overall by the international speakers who shared their experiences with local attendees from the USA, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Spain, Lebanon, and Iran.
