Shayan: As part of a community service initiative on May 20th, 2024, the Pharmacy Department organized a heartwarming project aimed at supporting children at a local orphanage. The project began with a successful fundraising event held on the university campus. Members of the Dean of Students, research assistants, and students from the Pharmacy faculty organized various activities, including food preparation, games, and handmade art, resulting in a significant amount of funds raised for the project.
Following the fundraiser, a meeting was held with the heads of the orphanage to identify the specific needs of the children. The visit had a profound impact on both the children and the Pharmacy students. For the children, the gifts and essential items brought much-needed joy and comfort, offering a refreshing break from their daily routine and creating cherished memories. For the Pharmacy students, the experience served as an invaluable lesson in empathy, generosity, and the importance of community service.
The students enthusiastically participated in various activities such as games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and group play, demonstrating creativity, kindness, and teamwork. The interactions were truly heartwarming, as students and children shared laughter, stories, and moments of genuine connection.
This community service project was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of our students and community members. It fostered a spirit of giving and compassion within the university, while also contributing to the ongoing fight against poverty and inequality.
