As part of the activities of the Community-University Partnership Projects, the Dean of Students Department in the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University organized a shopping outing to supply clothes for children from families in need. This initiative was done in collaboration with Dilnawa Organization. Mr. Yusuf Siddiq, the Dean of Students representative, along with other members of the Dean of Students department, organized and supervised the project with the assistance of second-grade students from the Faculty of Dentistry and members of Dilnawa Organization.
The project aimed to provide Eid clothing to 68 children from families in need, in celebration of Eid-al-Fitr. The children were accompanied by TIU students and members of Dilnawa Organization, who helped them shop based on their preferences.
The second-grade students started gathering donations for the project on March 10th, 2023. On April 1st, 2023, the Dean of Student representatives held a meeting with the students to conduct preliminary planning for the project. A second detailed and thorough meeting took place on April 15th, 2023, during which decisions were made, and plans and dates were finalized.
On April 19th, 2023, the group of students, along with supervisors from the Dean of Students department and members of Dilnawa Organization, took the children and their guardian family members to Royal Mall. Agreements were made with several shops to purchase Eid clothing. The children were given the opportunity to choose their Eid clothing using vouchers worth 50,000 IQDs. TIU students, along with Dilnawa Organization members, provided assistance and support throughout the shopping process.
This activity was financially supported and planned by students from the Faculty of Dentistry, and information on families and children in need was provided by Dilnawa Organization. Thanks to the success of the project, the children were left satisfied and content.
