The Beginning of an Ending

Farewells were never meant to be sad,
Nor were they made to make us weep for those we love.
An ending was never intended to be a permanent goodbye,
Followed only by the bitterness of regret.
Perhaps it is we who made the ending look that way.
Perhaps we are the ones who changed its meaning
Into a cycle of regret, sadness, and tears—
Where we receive nothing but hollow consolation,
Falling into embraces just to hide our faces,
Wiping our grief upon slanted shoulders.
Why don’t we take these weary faces,
And these seemingly miserable endings,
And turn them into stories told to passersby?
Into lessons sung to our children?
Let’s tell tales that revive the spirits of the elders
And make the hearts of the young grow lively.
Why don’t we transform the farewells we grew up with, into the hope of a new meeting?
Even if that meeting seems impossible.
Let’s turn every parting into an unforgettable memory,
Something that time cannot erase.
We do not seek to replace those who have departed,
But let’s carve for them special rooms within our hearts that last forever.
We may meet hundreds and befriend hundreds more,
So let us live every moment for the sake of a smile.
We were not created merely to wait for the end.
Our stories were not written to be finished in haste.
For us, the world does not truly end.
So why do we wait to grow up with such longing?
Even as we age, our souls remain childlike;
Let our minds bloom with flowers and colors.
In the end, we were created to build beginnings.
Not for the sake of finality,
But for the sake of eternity…
