The Invisible Girl

We were born together, me and her

Our mother was life

She told me to protect her

So that’s what I did…

I locked her up in a very far place,

In a place with no doors…

A place with no windows, walls, or floors

And I went out instead of her

I was strong

I was,

Strong

And as life went along, I realized…

Life was right

She wanted me to protect the invisible girl

From the monsters outside

Monsters which smelt fear and weakness

Monsters who feast on her sadness

I locked her more…

I made sure that nobody will be able to see,

That the invisible girl was hidden in me

This Poem is dedicated to every woman who is afraid to speak up. You are respected, loved, and your voice matters.
