On May 11th, 2023, the Faculty of Dentistry at Tishk International University organized the 6th National Conference of Oral Science (NCOS) under the title “Dentistry Beyond Boundaries.” The conference, supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, the Head of the Board of Trustees at Tishk International University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Andlusamad Salahudin, the President of TIU, and Dr. Duran Kala, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, was attended by Dr. Sarhang Jalal, the Representative of the Ministry of Health, KRG, as well as presidents of several universities and faculty deans.
The conference consisted of two sessions featuring presentations by five international speakers. It also included an exhibition by dental materials companies and nine research poster presentations. The platinum sponsors of the conference were Khoshnaw Group companies and Al Shara company, along with three golden sponsors (Dental Blueprint, Medicine, Diamond Polyclinic) and eight other sponsors (Crown Dent, New Dent, Vanest, Medicine, Ivory, Dent House, Smart for Maxillofacial Radiology, and Golden Dent) companies. Over 900 participants from across Kurdistan, other Iraqi cities, Turkey, and Iran took part in the conference.
The aim of NCOS was to cover all aspects of oral science and interdisciplinary fields, including basic, applied, and clinical research. The goal was to facilitate knowledge and information accessibility, bring together researchers, practitioners, educators, and scholars from around the world interested in various fields of dentistry. NCOS 2023 aimed to foster connections between theory and practice, exploring different perspectives on applying research findings to dental and educational practices.
