Celebrating Nursing Excellence: Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University Commemorates the 1st International Nurses Day

The Faculty of Nursing at Tishk International University commemorated the 1st International Nurses Day on May 18th, 2023, with a grand celebration of nursing excellence. This momentous event, held on the university campus, brought together students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and the community to honor the invaluable contributions of nurses and highlight their vital role in promoting healthcare and well-being.

In addition to the blood donation drive, the event showcased a series of scientific tents that provided valuable information on various healthcare topics.   1. Blood Donation For Life-Saving: Highlighting the significance of blood donation in emergency situations and encouraging attendees to become regular blood donors.
  2. Personal Hygiene Practices: Educating attendees on the importance of maintaining proper personal hygiene to prevent the spread of diseases and promote overall well-being.
  3. Diabetic Diet Plan: Providing valuable insights into crafting a balanced and healthy diet tailored for individuals with diabetes to effectively manage the condition.

  2. 2. First Aid for Burns: Demonstrating essential first aid measures for treating and caring for burn injuries.
  3. Benefits of Having a First Aid Box at Home: Highlighting the significance of a well-stocked first aid kit at home and providing practical advice on its contents and usage during emergencies.
  4. First Aid – Bites and Stings: Insights into managing bites and stings, understanding appropriate first aid measures to alleviate discomfort and prevent complications.
  5. 20-20-20 Rule: Addressing eye strain caused by excessive screen time, educating participants about the 20-20-20 rule and emphasizing regular breaks and eye exercises.
  6. Immobilizing Patients at Risk of Spinal Injury: Practical demonstrations on safely immobilizing patients at risk of spinal injury, emphasizing proper techniques and precautions.
  7. First Aid for Seizure: Education on identifying and responding to seizures, equipping participants with the necessary skills to provide immediate care and support.

The event also featured Sponsor tents, where various organizations showcased their support for nursing and healthcare-related initiatives. These tents served as platforms for networking, collaboration, and the promotion of healthcare products and services.
