Shayan: The 12th Graduation Ceremony of Tishk International University, under the supervision of the Dean of Students Office, was held on September 19th, 2023, at TIU’s Main Campus in Erbil. This event marked the culmination of the academic journey for the Class of 2023, where over 950 undergraduate students across eight faculties, encompassing Dentistry, Engineering, Law, FASE (Faculty of Administrative Sciences and Economics), Education, Science, Pharmacy, and Nursing, were conferred their degrees.
The proceedings commenced formally with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the rendition of the national anthem. Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulsamad Salahadin extended a cordial welcome to all esteemed guests. Dr. Abdulfattah Abdulrazaq, Deputy Minister of Higher Education of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), addressed the audience, expressing his elation at the students’ accomplishments and extending heartfelt wishes for their future endeavors. Dr. Idris Hadi, Head of the Board of Trustees of TIU, delivered a memorable address, expressing gratitude to the university’s trustees, guests, faculty members, colleagues, and graduates for their presence at this significant celebration.
Ms. Awat Biroqi, representing the senior students and attaining the highest GPA in the university, delivered an eloquent speech. She conveyed her gratitude to the guests, the university, and her family while sharing the challenges she encountered during her university journey.
The opening ceremony blended formal and ceremonial elements and was followed by the customary graduation procedure, where the top three students from each department were honored with plaques of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements. Subsequently, the graduating students were individually invited to the stage to receive their well-deserved graduation certificates. The ceremony ended with an exceptional live musical performance.
